8 kms away from Congjiang, Gaozhen Dong village is surrounded by green hills and beautiful rice fields. The road from Congjiang to Gaozhen is paved road, only about 20minutes' drive.

　　Gaozhen village has a long history of more than 600 years which is composed of Upper village, lower village and Bazhai village. There are some 400 families, nearlly 2000 people in the village. In the village, there are three drum towers, one of them is very old and beautiful, the dragon pattern on the drum tower is so exquisite and worth visiting.

　　If you come to Gaozhen during festivals, or when you need a performance, you can see women in gorgeous holiday bests. Comparing to the Dong in other regions, women's of here have more silver ornaments on their festival dress, women's embroidered shoes are very beautiful.

　　Nearby Gaozhen is Yinliang and Wenqiou Dong villages, and the region is so pretty, so to have a 1 and half kms hiking tour from Wenqiou village to Gaozhen village is really great, farmers working in the rice fields, ducks swimming, all makes a unique and beautiful picture. One more information is that in July of the lunar month, you may see local Dong women soak indigo and dye the cloth.
