Just about 400 meters' walk east away from Mincheng Hotel, is
the Black Dragon Cave old architecture complex which was built mainly
on the cliff of Mt Zhonghe. The Wuyang river flows through it's
feet.
Being the national key cultural protection unit, Black Dragon
Cave is also the most famous scenic spots in Zhenyuan. Reputated
as on of the three " Old architectures in the sky" in
ancient China as well as Mt. Maiji in Gansu, Hanging Temple in Shanxi,
it was Chian's old architecute which was most closed to town and
well preserved by montainous and water gardens.
Originally built on emperor Hongwu's 21st's rein in 1388, Black
Dragon Cave is the largest well preserved old building with exquite
design in the province where you could see Buddhism, Confunism and
Taoism bulidings. Composed of over 40 individual buildings, it was
mainly built on the 80 meters high, 300 meters long cliff of Mt.
Zhonghe.
Black Dragon Cave includes six parts, namely Zhusheng Bridge,
Zhongyuan Cave, Zhiyang Cave, Qinglong Cave, Longivity Palace and
Incense Burner Rock. Inside the Longivity Palace is the minority
museum and opera stage.
While standing at some bulidings in the Black Dragon Cave, you
will see a mysterious river flow through the beautiful town of Zhenyuan
and cut the town into two parts, giving people a sense of old, siplicity
and beauty. Black Dragon Cave is a really worth a visit once a life.
